- Roger tries to steal Mrs. Jones' purse.

- She takes him home and lets him wash his face.

- Mrs. Jones leaves her purse with Roger while she cooks dinner. He doesn't take the purse because he wants her to trust him.
- They eat dinner and Mrs. Jones tells Roger that she also did things she regrets. She gives him ten dollars for some blue suede shoes.
- He leaves and he wishes he said more to Mrs. Jones. He's been changed by this experience.
