- Those silly doctors must have it all wrong, my brother can't have cancer....
- ANGER

- BARGAINING 
- If I hit this baseball 2 out of 3 times, Jeffy will be okay.
- Steven was in denial when his brother was out town with his mom for a emergency visit. 
- DEPRESSION 
- Steven demonstrates anger in class when writing in his notebook about how annoying his brother is and about how his parents are barely his parents. 
- ACCEPTANCE
- Happy or sad!
- Steven bargains with God, trying to win the bargain to make his brother be healthy again. 
- SUMMARY
- Steven shows depression when he is talking to his parents about his little brother and how they didn't call. 
- Steven shows acceptance when he tires to play a game with Jeffy just to cheer him up because is now knows how sick Jeffy is and just wants to make him happy. 
- Steven has been through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
