  • The Native Americans were getting pushed out of their lands by American settlers, which got them really mad. Two Shawnee Indians, a Chief named Tecumseh and his brother, the Prophet wanted to fight back, so they gathered many Indians along the Mississippi River and created a whole nation. On November 7, 1811, a militia force that was led by William Henry Harrison fought against the Shawnee Warriors and won. After they won, the American soldiers figured out that the Indians were armed with British guns. This started an outrage with the Americans.
  • The Battle of New Orleans
  • In August 1814 the British invaded Washington D.C. The British managed to burn down many buildings including the White House. Then on September 13, the British bombarded Fort McHenry. They attacked the Fort until the break of dawn. Once dawn came, everyone saw that the United States flag was still standing and never fell, which shows that the Fort had not been captured by the British.
