- My name is Sacagawea. When I was younger I was taken from my family and I truly miss them.
- This is Lewis and Clark.When they found us they asked me to be their interpreter on their journey
- Before we decided to live with Clark, we lived with the Hidatsa for three more years.
- Sacagawea was born in May 1788 in America. She was born the Shoshone tribe. When she was 12, she and her friends were taken by a group of Hidatsa. I can hear her crying for her father and her father yelling for her. When she was 13 she was sold into marriage to Toussaint Charbonneau. Toussaint bought another Shoshone known as Otter Woman.
- Sacagawea first met Lewis and Clark when they asked her and her husband to join them on their expedition. when she had her son they nicknamed him pomp, and Sacagawea had to bring him on the expedition. I can see her worried face scared for her baby's life. Sacagawea was their interpreter and when they reached her brothers tribe they knew they were close to the pacific.
- After the expedition, they decided to go live with Clark. Sacagawea later died from an unknown sickness most people think is typhus. Clark then adopted both children and took another child too. Clark sent "Pomp" to boarding school. Sacagawea's "forgotten daughter" died at the age of ten.
