  • Long Live the King!
  • I anoint you in the name of the Lord.

  • Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
  • God said to Samuel He will send him to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for He has provided for Himself a king among his sons. God was speaking about David, the youngest of Jesse's sons. • David shall fall by my hand
  • King Saul and his army are at war with the Philistines. The Philistines send out a champion that is big and strong called Goliath, while David fights for the Israelite's. The Philistines laugh at him, but David only speaks of the Lord and defeats the giant with a sling and a stone.1 Samuel 17: 48-49
  • As they were coming home, when David returned from slaying the Philistine, the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with timbrels, with songs of joy, and with instruments of music and the women sang to one another as they made merry. 1 Samuel 18: 6-9
  • And Saul was very angry, and this saying displeased him. Out of jealousy, Saul starts hunting David to kill him. But Saul is afraid of David because he knows the Lord is with him. So David and his men, about 600, hide in the stronghold of the wilderness.1 Samuel 23: 9-14
