  • Join this sphinx on a journey to Cairo, Egypt. Mau the sphinx will cruise the Nile while marching through the Pyramids of Giza. All while encountering these famous deities in Egyptian religion. Mau comes across Bastet, Sekhmet,Osiris, and Isis. Their journey takes crazy turns so be ready!

  • Ancient Egyptian deities are the gods and goddesses worshiped in ancient Egypt. The beliefs and rituals made for these gods are what we call now the ancient Egyptian religion.
  • Traditions Practices
  • The Egyptian religion is polytheistic. Polytheistic is when you believe in or worship multiple gods. Egyptian gods include Amun Ra, Anubis, Seth, Osiris, Isis, and Horus.
  • Mut means mother in Egyptian, and she is known as The Mother Goddess. Mut became the eye of Ra after Amun merged with Ra
  • Historical Background
  • They practiced the belief that maat (from the goddess Maat) which means truth, justice, and cosmic order is a fundamental principle. In order to maintain maat, the people must constantly worship and make sacrifices to the gods to pacify the deities and spirits of the afterlife.
  • Amun-ra- The god of the sun and the air. One of the most powerful and popular gods of ancient Egypt, patron of the city of Thebes, where he is worshiped as part of the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.
  • The history of Egyptians dates back to 3000 BC when the upper and lower part of Egypt united. Akhenaten, the pharaoh of Egypt, took command in 1353 BCE. The Egyptians believed their pharaoh to be the mediator between the gods and the people. When he died, the pharaoh became divine. His powers were passed down and the position of the pharaoh was taken over by his son.
