  • Stress When a stressor is recognized the emotional processing center of the brain, the amgydala, is activated
  • The hypothalamus sends a distress signal to the body through the autonomic nervous system
  • The amgydala then sends a message to the hypothalamus which is the control center of our brains
  • The sympathetic portion of the ANS sends a signal to the adrenal glands
  • The adrenal glands are then signaled to release the stress hormone epinephrine!
  • In response to the stress hormone your body enters a state of flight or fight.
  • Ok, take as much time as you need.
  • I am feeling anxious. I'm going to take a walk for a few minutes.
