- “Where there are pistol shots, here are men. Where there are men, there is food.”
- After an argument with his friend Rainsford stayed after to smoke while his friend went to sleep. His pipe fell so he reached after it causing him to fall into the water.
- “it supplies me with the most excitinghunting in the world. No other hunting compares with it for aninstant. Every day I hunt, and I never grow bored now, for I have aquarry with which I can match my wits.”
- After he fell into the water he swam to the island.
- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
- After swimming onto the island he heard gunshots and decided to follow them, then he found a mansion.
- RAINSFORD ?!?!?
- After making it to Zaroff's mansion he talks with him, Rainsford finding out that Zaroff has heard about him. Then after explaining to Rainsford about what the dangerous game is about, Zaroff challenges him to the game.
- After Zaroff challenged Rainsford to play his game Zaroff said that Rainsford had until the evening to hide. Rainsford climbed up a tree after making his trail look undetectable, though Zaroff had found him he just toyed with him and left. Rainsford ran again after creating a trap for Zaroff, in the end it didn’t hurt him it hurt his friend Ivan. After this Zaroff got tired and brought out his dogs causing Rainsford to jump off a waterfall and into the water.
- Zaroff had a nice meal thinking that Rainsford had died after falling into the waterfall. Rainsford had swam back to land, going into Zaroff’s room and hiding behind his curtains. Zaroff then found out that Rainsford was alive and challenged him again. Rainsford stated that he had never slept better.
