- I've got something to tell you.
- Mary Malone is sitting in her home waiting for her husband to arrive. They are supposed to go out for dinner every Thursday. She is sewing something and sitting in the living room. Watching the clock knowing he is supposed to arrive. When her husband arrives and sits on the chair.
- Her husband is there and she serves him whiskey and is possessive about him. Her husband is a senior police officer and he is really tired and upset. He needs to tell her something important after thinking about a long time. He has many drinks of whiskey which gives Mary Malone some doubt by the quick drinking.
- Mary Malone goes into the kitchen to arrange for supper and she gets the first thing her hands get a hold of and that was a leg of lamb. She saw her husband standing next to the window and stopped. Her husband said something which made her get angry and she hit him with lamb on the back of his head.
- Personally , I think it's right here on the premises. Probably right under our very noses. ...
- She was 6 months pregenant and she wasn't worried about herself but for the baby. She went downstairs and she sat down before the mirror and fixed her face and rehearsed to act normal and decided to go to Sam's store and buy vegetables so no one would be suspicious about her or doubt her.
- She went to Sam's store and bought 2 potatoes and a can of beans. Then Sam suggested her to buy a slice of cheesecake and she also bought that too. She was acting all normal and came back home and started acting as if she knew nothing that had happened and called the police station
- All the policemen, investigators, detectives, and everyone else checked for a long time and after awhile she asked them if they were hungry and told them it would be a favor if they would eat the lamb. So the 2 policemans and the 2 other men all had the lamb while Mary Malone giggled sitting on her chair.
