Storyboard Text

  • Let's see some shapes that aren't parallelograms. What shape do you see here, Billy?
  • I see a triangles! Triangles are polygons that have three sides! All three sides can be the same, two can be the same, or none can be the same size!
  • Of course I do! It looks like the kite I fly after school all the time! But what makes this a kite?
  • What about this one? Do you know what this shape is called?
  • A kite is a quadrilateral that has two opposing pairs of congruent angles! A congruent angle means that the angles have the same number of degrees in them.
  • We still have a few more shapes to see! Do you know what this one is?
  • This one is a trapezoid! I know because it is a quadrilateral that has at least one pair of parallel sides. It looks like it could be an isosceles since it has a pair of opposite congruent sides!
  • Great job, Billy!
  • I think I know what this is! Is this a pentagon?
  • It sure is! A pentagon is a polygon that has 5 sides! This one is a regular pentagon because all of the sides and angles are congruent!
  • Did you have fun today in the Shape Garden?
  • I sure did! I saw so many cool polygons! Thanks, Ms. Mathy!
  • THE END
