  • Contraction: Rachel is having to fire employees because the housing market isn’t doing so well. This is causing the unemployment rate in her city to rise because Rachel’s Real Estate was the largest business in the city. Since Rachel is doing this social problems increase within the office. Employees are fighting with each other constantly because they are stressed about losing their jobs.
  • I can’t believe this happening. I needed this job so badly. This is the worst company I have ever worked for.
  • I’m so sorry, but I’m afraid I have to fire you due to how our business is doing.
  • Expansion: The economy is growing. Jill decides to buy three businesses on Main Street. She knows that buying now will be the best time to make the maximum profit. Products are selling for higher amounts of money and being on Main Street causes her to get the most business traffic.
  • Rachel made very low profits in 6 months causing her to lay off all of her employees. This caused the unemployment rate in her city to be at an all time high. Now Rachel’s business is just her. She is still trying to sell houses so she can make money. Rachel is not having much luck with that though.
  • I’m Jill and I’m the proud owner and investor of three new businesses on Main Street! I hope to make a large profit!
  • Peak: Our business is thriving in the short period of time. We have made a ton of profit in a short amount of time. This is all thanks to our employees. We are going to continue to grow our business and invest our business into new locations. I just purchased more buildings in a mall on the other side of town.
  • I can’t believe this is happening, I’m so close to losing my business and then I will have no job.
  • Recovery: Rachel’s Real Estate is making a recovery and so is the economy. More houses are back on the market and more people are buying homes again. Rachel is starting to start her business back up again and is rehiring old employees.
  • Thank you so much! I would love my job back!
  • I’m so sorry I had to lay you off before. I would love to offer you your job back with Rachel’s Real Estate.
