  • Hello my name is Jasmine and I'm going to be telling you about the history of anime in Japan
  • Its disputed of what the first ever animation in Japan was but is thought to be Katsudo Shashin.
  • In the early 20th century there were people experimenting with animation.
  • The first ever actual anime was made in 1917. The true name is thought to be Dekobō Shingachō or in english "Bumpy New Picture Book: Failure of a Great Plan"
  • Fun fact, animes were short films at first but grew into series and movies.
  • During the time of world war ii the animation industry in Japan grew. Since the Japanese government wanted to invoke culture nationalism they did it through the animation industry.
  • In 1958 the first ever full color anime was produced by Toei Animation and Mushi Production.
  • It was called Hakujaden or "The tale of the white serpant" in english.
  • In the 1960s anime was brought to american T.V.s with "Three tales", "Astro Boy", " Sennin Buraku", " Wolf Boy Ken", "Kimba the White Lion ", " Sally the Witch", "Speed Racer" , and many more.
