- Let me get this straight. This women who I have never met-who cut you out of her life without looking back wants me towork at her hotel??
- Dear Milly,We have of course never met. The reasons are complex, but as years progress they become less important than they once were, As you stand poised on the threshold of adult hood...
- Milly stop! She is your grandmother and this is a way for my siblings and I to find out why she disinherited us 24 years ago.
- Aubrey, Jonah, Milly. Nice to see you.

- Oh my gosh. Her birthmark. It's gone.
- AHHH! That is burning hot Aubrey!
- The three cousins Milly, Aubrey, and Jonah each receive a letter addressed from their grandmother Mildred Story. The letter is inviting them to work at Gull Cove Island Resort which their grandmother owns. They've only met each other once when they were very young and have never met their grandmother.

- OMG! This report was from 24 years ago. There is no way our grandmother is still alive.
- Another clue about our "grandmother". We have to find her.
- Things are not what they seem when the cousins arrive at the resort. They start to realize that there are many secrets within their family. But what are they is the real question. Milly quickly realizes by her grandmother's reaction that she was not the one who invited them to the resort.

- Aubrey spills tea on her grandmother while she was meeting with her. This results in her having to remove her gloves because the tea is so hot. Aubrey immediately realizes that her birth mark is not on her hand.
- They have enough clues to figure out the mystery behind their grandmother disinheriting the whole Story family. All they have left to do is find Aubrey and put all the pieces together.

- I just got a text from Aubrey. "There wasn't a birthmark". What could that mean?
- After gathering all their clues the cousins confront their "grandmother" and force her to tell them everything that happened and the truth. She turns out to be someone who was very close to their grandmother and was always helping around the resort. When their grandmother died, she kept it a secret and pretended to be her so she could use all the money from the Story family fortune. She disinherited all her children because if they came close to her they would realize that it wasn't really her.
- Gull Cove Island is set on fire so that the other people behind the scenes helping the women pretend to be Mildred Story could escape.
