  • I have a book to read to you all today for health class, it's called "Liam has Leprosy"
  • No one wanted to help him or even be around him so he only got sicker. It started with dry skin, then a rash. as weeks passed he began to loosing feeling in his feet, he kept getting weeker every day. Without seeing anyone in months he passed without anyone knowing.
  • I feel bad for Liam, people were so mean to him.
  • I really sorry for being mean to you Lilly, I didn't know. I wouldn't want you to die like Liam. I would love to get to know you better now.
  • I would like that!
  • This is why we are thankful for all our medical and scientific advancements. Years later we learned that leprosy is caused by the bacteria M. leprae, it's not contagious after treatment, and over 95% of people are naturally resistant to it. We also have advancements as such to thank for keeping wonderful people like Lilly around.
