  • Welcome to the Indus Valley Civilization in Pakistan. Started in 2700 B.C.E, the Indus Valley Civilization was built around the Indus River, and it flourished for many years.
  • The streets were lined with houses made of mud brick. Most of them had two stories and had flat roofs because we spend much of our time on the roofs. Lots of homes had over a dozen rooms.
  • The advanced sewer system was a great achievement of the Indus civilization. A network of pipes connected the homes and buildings to the main sewer system. It was used to empty waste water from buildings.
  • The great bath is a 39 foot long pool made of waterproof brick. The water would be removed in a drain in the side. It was used to bathe. It was also likely used for religious purposes.
  • Seals are small stone with imprints of many different animals. Seals were used as as charms or as a trade tag to represent who owned the products.
  • 
  • The people of the Indus Valley Civilization often used a scale and stone blocks to weigh goods for trade.
  • They also used tags to mark who owned the goods traded.
