- Identity theft is where people like me steal your information and identity. Here are some tips to deter and defend identity theft
- Shred documents and bills before throwing them away. And use unique passwords on different accounts and hide the passwords if you write them down. Also keep important stuff like your security number in a safe.

- Always keep track of your wallet and phone, especially in a public space.

- You can detect identity theft if your billing address changes, there are unknown charges on your credit card, check your bank statements, and review your bills and credit reports
- A credit card report can tell you how you have handled your credit account and tells you the type of account and payment history. It tells you your credit activity and current credit situation. This can help you track down unwanted and unknown purchases and stop the identity theft early in the process.
