- Whitney and Rainsford are both chatting about hunting in the Amazon and how it wont be very good for the jaguars.

- Rainsford had reached too far over the pole and fell over the yacht into the Caribbean sea as the water started to cover him.
- Falling action
- He swam and swam and swam until he got to shore only to see a strange man (General Zaroff) standing upon him. that told him that he had read his book and about a thing called the hunting games.
- Resolution
- Even Though Rainsford did not want to do the hunting games general Zaroff was still able to convince him. Though general zaroff saw rainsford he played it off like nothing ever happened.
- While Rainsford and general zaroff were on the hunt Rainsford jumped into the water as quckly as he could on the last, best day of the hunt to get away from general zaroff.
- Rainsford had suprised General zaroff by winning the hunting games resulting in Rainsford being able to stay the rest of his time in general zaroffs bedroom.
