  • I spend a lot of time doing homework. Can you write a draft to fix that?
  • MEOW
  • I will make a draft out of that!
  • This is a bill suggesting less homework for students.
  • He is introducing the bill to the senate!
  • YAY
  • Now the senate makes any changes. Then they vote on the bill. If majority accepts it, then they send it to the house of representatives
  • Nay
  • The house of representative can now make changes and vote on the bill
  • When the majority accepts and both houses agree on the same final draft, Then it is sent to the president
  • YAY
  • This is a bill suggesting less homework for students. 
  • The president can veto the bill and send it back to congress. But they can override it if 2/3 accepts.
  • The last option is that the president accepts the bill and it becomes a law, which is what happened in this case.
  • 
  • The president can choose no action. If congress is in session after 10 days, it becomes a law. If they are not in session within the 10 day period, the bill does not become a law. That is called a pocket veto.
  • I like that idea! It is now a law.
