Storyboard Text

  • The Hudson's bay company had sold Rupert's land to Canada without permission from the Metis, who lived there. Canada intended to govern the Metis land as a territory without many rights, this was not acceptable to Louis Riel, who was determined to gain these rights only through legal means.
  • On the orders of the government of Canada, this land is now a territory of Canada.
  • Louis Riel
  • Not on my pendulum clock!
  • Thomas Scott
  • SURVEYOR! What are the reports!
  • A young man? I'll teach him to get in my way! DIE MORTAL!!!
  • There is a young man in the way sir!
  • Thomas Scott, the leader of a surveyor team that was measuring the Metis land, attacked a young Metis boy for trying to stop his land from being taken away, this led to a very angry group of Metis people.
  • This is my land!!
  • KILL HIM
  • Louis Riel had Thomas taken to court and tried, after being proved guilty, he was sentenced to death, and so was shot and killed.
  • A short while after in Ontario
  • Louis Riel's actions made the people of Ontario outrageous, and they called for action, most wanting Louis Riel dead.
  • Due to the fact that people were trying to kill him, Louis Riel fled to Montana, where he had become a bit insane, thinking himself to be "the prophet of the plains" and destined to give the Metis rights. Gabriel Dumont comes to Louis, and asks him for his assistance with the petitions going on in Manitoba, since the railway is being built trough Metis land, again without permission. This time, Louis comes along, and for the last time.
  • This time, he was captured and killed as a traitor to Canada.
