- Martin Luther (1483-1546) was seen as a major figure in the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century, Europe. Luther was a German theologian and religious reformer.
- The Indulgences are wrong! Only by faith may you truly be welcomed into the kingdom of God
- Martin Luther then went on to the sharing of the Bible. One of Martin Luther's greatest feats was the translation of the Bible from Latin into his own language, German.
- The 95 Theses
- Indulgences were pieces of paper that the Church sold to the people as a way to avoid Hell, go straight through Pergatory, and straight to Heaven, no matter what sins the person comitted. The church sold these to gain money for their own benefit. Martin Luther considered indulgences as a crime towards God.

- Martin Luther nailed a copy of his Theses to the Wittenberg Castle Church. This event highlighted a key time in Martin Luther's stand against the Church. This was the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
- Martin Luther created a Thesis that highlighted questions and propositions for debate, acting against the selling of Indulgences to the public.
- During this time, the first printing press came out in Germany. Martin Luther saw this as an opportunity. His Bible was printed and then smuggled to all parts of country.
