  • In Greek, Mesopotamia means "land between the rivers".
  • Welcome Mesopotamia! Before I give you tour, I change my clothes.
  • In the center of each Mesopotamian city was a giant temple called a ziggurat. The people of Mesopotamia were polytheistic, so each ziggurat was theorized to house a different god.
  • Wow! That big building.
  • Throughout Babylonia, Assyria, Sumer, etc. there were independent city-states. This means that they usually have the same culture and religion, but differ in government and army.
  • All hail king!
  • Many inventions were made in Mesopotamia. The best though, would probably be the wheel and axle.
  • Hey! look what I make!
  • Ooo, me like!
  • I am farmer.
  • Due to the food surplus, there were many vocations. Water sellers, scribes, artisans, farmers, traders, and priests are all examples of Mesopotamian professions.
  • I am scribe.
  • I am artisan.
