In the very first scene, Lyddie and her family are faced with a dangerous situation. A bear comes into their cabin and Lyddie has to keep her family safe. They climb a ladder to the loft for safety. While they are up there, the bear destroys the cabin.
In chapter 6 Ezekial is a runaway slave. He has to hide from people and the government otherwise he would be captured and sold as a slave. So Ezekial is running toward the north because in the south that’s where the slaves are. While Lyddie is running toward the South because that’s where the mills are.
In chapter 9 Lyddie meets Diana, and when Lyddie tells Amelia about her. She reacts by saying that Lyddie should not hangout with Diana and that it was a bad idea of meeting Diana later on. But Lyddie refused to listen to her and go and meet Diana anyways.
Don’t nobody yell, just back up slow and quiet to the ladder and climb up to the loft
Ahhhhh!
I should introduce myself,I’m Ezekial Abernathy, or was so called formerly. I was on the northward when the snow delayed me last November.
