  • My name is Jesse Nishymiya, and I am a 16 year old boy living in Arizona with my parents who are fully Japanese.
  • We remained at the assembly centers until being transferred to concentration camps.
  • Arizona residents of military zone 1, register with authorities and report to temporary assembly centers.
  • I never realized how much foreign relations can influence the Asian American experience.
  • We are located in the middle of the desert with harsh conditions in Poston, Arizona relocation center.
  • I discover my father is not there. This is strange, father is a man who is always on time and immediately I know something is wrong.
  • Guard assigned to the farm, what happen to my father
  • Today I am in charge of helping my dad on the camp farm after I am done with school. It's a particularly hot day and as the bell rings, I race out to the farms.
  • About 150 of us camp residents were transferred to another camp in Utah. your father too
  • I don't know what I am going to do without my father and how they could just cruelly separate a family without warning.
  • She has been ill for weeks now and depends on my dads company to keep her going.
  • I quickly race to our settlement and inform my mother who by the looks of it already knows as she's crying.
