- I wish for 200 pounds.
- Mr.White and Herbert are playing chess, Mrs.White is watching. They are waiting for their guest.
- Rising Action
- Herbert was caught in the machinery. You will receive money as an apology. 200 pounds.
- Sergent Major Morris comes to visit, and brings a monkey's paw that sparks an interest in the white family. Morris believes that is dangerous and should be destroyed.
- Climax
- Sergent Major Morris warned them one last time and left. Mr.White uses his first wish, He wishes for 200 pounds. No one in the house really believes it will work.
- Resoulution
- A person from the company Herbert works at brings the Whites' awful news. Herbert had died in the machinery. Also that the company would provide the family 200 pounds.
- How much?
- Herbert....My Herbert!
- After a few days Mrs.White realises that they could wish their son alive again . Then she forces her husband to make the wish.
- I..I wish my son alive again.
- Wish my boy alive again, do it!
- They hear a knocking at the door Mrs.white crazily tries to open the door, but can't reach the dead bolt and Mr.white refuses to help her. Then she gets a chair and opens it but the re isn't anything there
- I wish my son dead again.
