- The water for my pasta is almost finished boiling!
- OH JIMINY CRICKETS!!
- Weird, that water was boiling hot but it doesn't even hurt!
- Well it looks like you have third degree burns, meaning all 3 layers of the skin are burned
- This explains why you didn't feel any pain, the nerves themselves were damaged
- There are multiple ways to treat these burns, and they all start by cleaning and removing dead skin and tissue
- The most effective form of treatment is grafting, where some of your skin from other parts of your body is surgically attached to cover a wound
- Now I know to be more careful around things that could seriously burn me!
