- We are introduced to Riley, her family, and 5 emotions.Riley and her family move to San Fransisco. 
- I should just run away!
- Riley has her first class and finds out how much she misses her old home and starts crying.Joy and Sadness get sucked up into long term memory.Things don't go very good at HQ, Riley gets in trouble with her perents.

- Everybody on!!!
- Joy and Sadness meet Bing Bong in long term memory and he helps the get close to getting back to HQ.
- Stop the bus, I want to get off
- Riley falls and misses the tryout shot and quits hockey.Anger gives the idea to run away and the other emotions don't agree but agree later.
- Riley decides to run away and steals money from her mom to buy a bus ticket.Joy and Bing bong get stuck in the pit of forgotten memories, Joy gets out by using a wagon rocket but Bing bong fades away.
- Joy and Sadness get back to HQ and sadness takes the idea of running away out of Rileys head and Riley realizes that its a bad idea.
