- we also know that its a different time because Ponyboy was allowed to smoke in the hospital
- most of the book takes place outside probably because they all had broken familys and didnt spend a lot of time at home.
- Drive in movies are in the book, and it is a good time clue, because in the 1960's Drive in movies were really popular.
