Storyboard Text

  • Denial
  • Barganing
  • Anger
  • The credits roll, As the credits roll and instrumental of "She" plays in the background, we see B-roll footage of a somber day. Picture a park bench with a torn stuffed animal, an empty swing set with one swing still moving, and finish the scene with an empty recliner chair
  • Depression
  • Then we should fade to black introduce the scene to the sound of the alarm clock going off then a close up shot of staring into space. Then we see the shot of the ambulance, Code blue room six now! Code blue room six now!
  • Acceptance
  • Then we see the shot of Ava sitting in the bed with the pen and pad with a flash back memory of the hospital hallway "I'm sorry to tell you this Miss Curry but we've done all we can to revive your father. Cut back to that same cut of Ava in the bed with that pen and pad : what do you mean he passed( the shot of the heart monitor) VO : "What do you mean he passed"? So he's just gone ?

  • It's been a week since I last heard your voice. For as long as I can remember, Saturday mornings have always been our thing. I can hear you now, "early bird gets the worm." Ava Mae, waking me up to the smell of fresh flowers and old-school RB music What'chu know about "This young whippersnapper? "real music, not that Bullshit, you young cats call music. Your rumbly baritone voice—I'd give everything to hear your voice right now.

  • God am I dreaming? Is my daddy really dead ? No, No No ! any minute my phone is going to ringing with him on the other line saying Ava Mae the brat ,How you doing girl?
  • Then we cut back to the sound of that alarm clock and Ava sitting on the bed turning the light( this the beginning of her searching for Da-Da. I like the transitions and variations of searching for da-da ( if we use the variations of her and the hairstyles we should also use the shot of her searching for him with the bonnet on as well.) to make it consistent that this a dream of a period of time( then we end the hallway scene just the way you have it because shots bring us back to the present moment)
  • I like this sequence and transition of shots here let's keep this the same.
  • I like this transition of cuts and dissolves, but let's cut back to her sitting in front of the toilet. after the sequence of shots that you have already use for this Voiceover
  • The same as you did with the first bathroom scene we are just adding a second part to match the voiceover before above.
  • Keep this sequence just the way that you have it but add more detail shots of her taking her mothers pearls out the jewelry box. Close out this act the just the way you have it(Also lets take out the rainy footage during this phone call it's not telling the story)
  • Hi, Mrs. Curry. I was just giving you a courtesy call to let you know we will be there to pick you and your family up in an hour for the services today.
  • Use the variations of shoots of the steps and the church to establish where she is at with the new song we placed let the song playuntil we fade to black for the next scene
  • We see silent shot of Ava sitting in front of the window with her sunglasses on looking into the camera for a few seconds before the music starts.
  • I don't want to do this. Why am I doing this again? Da-Da why you making me do this?
  • You can do this! You're going to do this! You've got this!
  • I like the variations of shots that you used for this sequence, but if your going to use the window shots of Ava she needs to not be looking down at her phone she should be staring outside the window
  • This section is used for when starts to look for look for her speech ( make sure that the voiceovers match the action) " When she says oh my god" this is where we should see he boots tapping the floor, then we see her in front of the bookshelf ext. the shots that you already have in place are fine.
  • I like how you have the walk just fine no changes
  • We start the transition to see the coffin (dramatize this if need be) we use some of the b-roll of the rain hitting the umbrella as the music starts then we see Ava enter the theater and then we see the introduction to Da-da
  • Est shot
  • I want to use different angels of Ava as she watches the slide show mixed in with B-roll of the cemetery until we get the introduction of her mother keep everything from this point the exact same.( after she says thank you their should be a slight pause, then the applause)
  • One day I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and didn't recognize my own reflection. That's when I knew something had to change. Besides, if Da-Da was here, he wouldn't have any of that.
  • Before we use this shot We need to use the Boxing gym as the Est shot. Let the music play for a few before we use this current shot only the music should be playing at this pint.
  • I'd be lying if I said that the days get easier; Saturday mornings are still a little rough. I usually just go for a walk. I'm taking my boards next week, and in just a few short weeks, I'll be a registered nurse. I'm very proud of that, but it still feels like something is missing in my life.
  • I use to box back in the day
  • What happened to your eye?
  • Keep it just as you have it
  • Keep all of this sequence the same( but make sure your trimming the shots of with her cell phone as I was filming myself and its not apart of the shot.
  • The music fades out as we see Ava sitting on the bench reading her paper. Then Marcus walks over and sits down on the bench, there is an awkward silence ,ava says something to him and then we start to see this long conversation he exposes his eye to her (just like you already have it except when they scoot together the theme music should start as it fades in then the ending credits.
  • I just have to pick up these pieces and this new apprentice gig at the construction gig maybe just what I need.
