- Abrahams Descendants Grow and Grow
- Obeying False Gods
- God Promises Abraham and his wife that he would be a father of many descendants. God would make them into a great nation. God would give the land. God would bless the whole world through them.Abraham and his wife Sarah had a son called Isaac, Isaac had a son called Jacob.
- God Promises The People A God
- In Egypt Abrahams great great grandchildren, Isaac and Jacob became strong. Pharaoh becomes scared that they will defeat the Egyptians, so he made them their slaves. The Israelites begin to suffer under the terrible hard work they where given by Pharaoh. The people cried out to God and he sent Moses to help them.
- Sent Prophets To Warn The People
- God loves you! Turn back to him.
- What do you mean?
- Eventually they got to Gods promise land! But instead of obeying God they turned their backs and started obeying false Gods.
- Rebuilding The Promise Land
- The people asked for a God, so God promised king David that his family would always rule. One day a king would come and bring a blessing upon the whole world. The king would be called Messiah or Christ.
- Many of the kings after David did not believe or worship God. They told their people that they should worship Gods instead. But God still loved his people so he sent prophets to warn them. Otherwise they would be sent into exile. The people refused to do as God said and enemies invaded Israel's land.
- Some of Gods people where able to return to the promise land, they then began rebuilding. This was not easy, it was much harder then it was before. By the end of the old testament Gods people where still waiting for Gods promise. Waiting for the blessing and their Christ.
