- Robbie was new to his job. His boss Sara asked if he could put some boxes on the top shelf using the ladder.
- Of course, I'll get right on that!
- Hi Robbie would you mind helping me put some of these boxes on the top shelf ?
- Robbie didn't question if it was a safe idea, He just listened to Sara's orders because he was new. She also promised him to watch and be there in case anything happened.
- I'll be right here watching in case anything happens.
- Sara looked away for just one minute to talk to a coworker, while Robbie was still on the presumably safe ladder.
- Hi Tom, how was your weekend?
- It was pretty good Sara thanks for asking.
- AHHH!
- While reaching for one of the shelfs, the ladder tipped over and Robbie fell down. With him flew all of the books and supplies that the box he was carrying contained.
- Oh no! Robbie!
- Because of the unsafe environment and the fact that Sara wasn't doing her job, Robbie ended up breaking his leg and was unable to work for the next 8 weeks, putting a strain on the company's productivity
- Oh no, I hope he'll be okay!
- My leg!
- I'll call 911!
- From then on, each staff member new and old was required to attend an information session and workshop to ensure safety in the workplace. The company also made sure to inspect all of the working zones for the sake of their employees' safety
- ...and that will ensure that each of our employees will always be safe from now on.
