hello, i am Aaron Douglas, i live with my mother and father i love to paint just like my mother!
this is my fort job, i was a cleaner for a power plant, sadly i faced racism here.
when i came to new york i won a scholarship to study with German-born artist/illustrator Winold Reiss who was known for his portraits of Native Americans and African Americans. (1)
i then started to fund "fire" they wanted the black community to be able to speak out, and be free to do so (3)
i then found out my signature art style, silhouettes , then i got my first commision it was with the National urdan leages magizen. (2)
during the 1930 my art became very popular and i started to grow fame, during this time i went to study at paris i befriended sculptor Charles Despiau and painter Othon Friesz (1)

i then came back to new york in 1932, i then moved to sugar hill in the area of harlem . i was then made president of, the Harlem Artists Guild, along with sculptor Augusta Savage-, (2)
in 1937 i received an Julius Rosenwald Foundation fellowship to travel to historically black collages in the south . (1)
after this i went to nashville where i was working at frisk university and in new york so i could regularity attending lectures
