- In 1942 Britain and the us decide to start creating nuclear weapons and they needed Canada for the plutonium factory and uranium. so C.D Howell gave the go ahead to the Chalk river factory

- The reason these three counties needed to create nuclear weapons because, the war with Germany and Japan was straining on and on.
- These events helped Canada grow
- the factory helped this town employ more people and with the uranium and the research this helped Canada jump forward in power production for the future.

- These contributions and research eventually lead to the a bomb being dropped on japan and led to the end of the war.
