- Lewis and Clark discovered over 107 new types of plants such as the Milk Vetch flower, Curlycue Gumweed, and the Red Whisker Clammy weed.
- Lewis and Clark met many different Native American tribes along the way such as the Osage tribe, the Sioux, and the Mandan.
- The Lewis and Clark trail is over 3,700 miles long and starts at the Wood River in Illinois to the mouth of the Columbia River in Oregon
- In conclusion the expedition led to new settlers exploring the new territory of the United States
