Under the rule of Porfirio Diaz, Mexico was an elitist country. The rich and those who had significant power were favored, the common people were expendable.

Emiliano Zapata was a leading figure of the Mexican Revolution from 1910 to the 1920s. One of his big accomplishment and a role he played in the Mexican Revolution was forming the Liberation Army of the South (defeated Federal Army in the Battle of Cuautla).
Francisco Madero
Soldaderas. The women of the Mexican revolution played a role that would be necessary for the desired outcome to come to life. Soldaderas could be nurses, wives, and even those blasting ammunition towards their enemies.
An End to the Revolution
Victoriano Huerta was a general in the Mexican Federal Army. He was a major figure in the Mexican revolution and even would later become the 39th president of Mexico. He was the face of the elite in the Mexican Revolution and even had the support of the United States.
Francisco Madero, the 37th president of Mexico, was the mastermind before the San Luis plan, this kickstarting the Mexican Revolution. As a political reformist, he would naturally be against Porfirio's rule and on November 20th, 1910, he would do something that would forever reshape Mexico as it is.
After an estimate of 1,500,000 deaths, the Mexican Revolution was done! The Mexican Revolution destroyed the country's old government and reestablished the economy and social systems to give social equality in spite of status.
