- I'm the Tariff of 1828, and I am here to protect america's agriculture from competing with our countries imports.

- Andrew Jackson Issues the protective Tariff, in 1828. To protect our countries agriculture by taxing imports from out of the country, but not everyone was happy about it.
- Union must come first!
- South Carolina did not like the new tariff. it caused them not to be able to get supplies for farming, and other goods. They also wanted to leave the union.
- I propose that we use this compromise.
- Due to this Jackson's Vice President, John C. Calhoun dropped from his campaign to help South Carolina nullify the tariff, or secede from the union.
- YAY, WE DID IT.
- To keep the Union together at all costs Jackson, passed the Force Bill which kept the states from being able to veto the tariff and kept them from seceding. This caused even more tension.
- Henry Clay wrote the Compromise Tariff of 1833. This compromise slowly lowered rates of the protective tariff. He gave his proposition, and it was later passed in March 1833.
- Due to the Compromise Tariff, both sides feel satisfied with the outcome. Thanks to Henry Clay peace was restored to the Union.
