juan's mom gave birth to him on the slave owner's home.
the mother started to work as soon as possible and she was still treated harshly.
she would leave juan in the living room with the owner's daughter.
as juan grew he would be inside working while his dad was in the field all day and get torchered.
the owner was becoming poor so he started salyng slaves and one of them was juan so he left his family when he was a young kid like around 12 yrs old.

slavery became illegel after some years but some places still own slaves and treat them harshly and dont have their own freedom because the owners treat them bad and they have to listen to what they are told to do or they get punished severely.
