- Exposition
- Conflict
- Rising action
- Thomas arrives at the maze and meets a group of boys that call themselves the Glade. The Glade is located in the center of the maze.
- Climax
- Thomas and the other glade members need to figure out out how to escape the maze. but they're faced with the maze's walls that constantly move and the grievers that roam within the walls ready to kill.
- Falling action
- The lift that brings up food/supplies has stopped and the "sunlight" has gone away. Thomas and the rest of the glade need to figure out who their capture is. And while there struggling to get answers a girl arrives.
- Resolution
- Thomas and the Glade fight the grievers and go into the their hole. they shut down the grievers, and a door opens to a lab. they may have escaped but only half of the group is alive .
- once they enter the door they come encounter with the creator who tells them that they where named after famous scientist and that they where put in the maze to test them to see who would survive.
- rescuers come and kill the creators and save Thomas and the rest of the glade. They then take them to an unknown location .
