- The Continental Congress
- This is the place where the 1st and 2nd Continental Congress were held. In this case, this is during the second continental congress.
- This meeting was about creating an army, the Continental Army, to fight off the British, since the colonies declared independence from them. The first meeting was about the colonies deciding to become one whole state, America as we know it now.
- They also decided who should lead the army, which they chose George Washington. They admired the way he led his troop from the British army, since he was kicked out due to losing a war
- During these meetings not only were George Washington, John and Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, and Patrick Henry but also many other people who were representatives from each colony. Everyone in the room during the meetings were important to ideas and advice.
- War At Sea
- Few years later, after signing the Declaration of Independence, they are in a war with Britain. Which has lasted for a while but on land. Since Britain decided to fight in the sea, America did too.
- Of course America wasn't going down without fighting, especially since they hadn't been independent from Britain for very long. As well as they did not want to be under King George III rule again.
