  • Later that same day. As Ruth is ironing clothes Beneatha emeges grandly from her room in a Nigerian robe and headdress she recieved as a gift from Asagai. Beneatha turns off Ruths music and puts on a Nigerian record.
  • You are looking at what a well-dressed Nigerian woman wears
  • - Enough with this assimilationist junk.

  • Beneatha begins to dance and jump to the melody. Ruth watches her dumbfounded. Walter walks in during this ceremony and has obviously been drinking.
