  • The Ancien Regime was when King Louis XVI was in power and had control over the three estates. The 3 estates system was unfair because the King only taxed the 3rd estate. The 3rd estate was the poorest.
  • Storming of the Bastille July 14, 1789.
  • The Rights of Man and Citizen is about all men having freedom and equal rights. The rights state that all men are born equal. They also have the rights to take place in the legislative process.
  • Execution of King Louis XVI, January 21, 1793.
  • The Reign of Terror is a time where the peasants using a weapon called a guillotine. The Committee of Public Safety is a group of 12 people that took control of the government. The reason they took control of the government was to defend France from domestic threats, the Committee adopted policies that because known as the Reign of Terror.
  • Rule of Napoleon and his Accomplishments, 1804.
  • The reason the Storming of the Bastille happened was because an angry mob demanded for weapons and ammunition. There was a huge battle that took their and the mob killed the prisons' governor and carried his head around the streets like a spike. The Storming of the Bastille marked the beginning of the French Revolution.
  • King Louis XVI was the king of France. He was a terrible leader who messed with foreign powers. He also treated people of the third estate poorly. The way he treated the third estate poorly was by only taxing them even though they had no money to begin with. Later on the French Revolution began and King Louis was executed by the guillotine.
  • Napoleon role in the French Revolution was to bring an end to it when he came to power in 1799. Napoleon rose quickly through ranks and he became a captain at the age pf 24, the Committee of Public Safety made him a brigadier general. Napoleon won multiple battles and with speed. In the end Napoleon earned devotion from his troops.
