- Checkmate. You know what that means, Harry.
- I have to let you buy me breakfast.
- My grandfather was a very wealthy man. And it appears that you have been named in his will.

- There are four Hawthorne grandsons.

- Avery and Harry, a homeless man playing chess in the park.
- "The remainder of my estate, including all properties, monetary assets, and worldly possessions not otherwise specified, I leave to Avery Kylie Grambs"

- There must be some mistake.
- Grayson Hawthorne tells Avery that she inherited some of his grandfather's money.
- You are to live in Hawthorne House for one year commencing no more than three days form now.
- The only string attached to my inheriting billions of dollars is that I must move into a mansion.
- Alisa shows Avery and Libby the Hawthorne House, and tells her about the four Hawthorne grandsons.
- If the clue is a book by its cover I guess that we're looking for either a book or a cover or maybe a mismatch between the two?

- Mr. Ortega tells everyone what they got, and that Avery is left with everything else that Mr. Hawthorne left.
- Alisa tells Avery that the only thing she has to do is live in the mansion in order for her to inherit all the money that Mr. Hawthorne left for her or it all goes to charity.
