Storyboard Text

  • Purpose of Photosynthesis
  • No. What's that?
  • Oh, and to add there's also an equation to it! The equation is 6Co2+6H2O-->C6Ho6+6O2
  • Oh! I know the purpose of photosynthesis!
  • Hey! Do you know the purpose of Photosynthesis?
  • Photosynthesis transforms water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide into oxygen, and simple sugars that the plants use for fuel!
  • Chloroplast
  • In the image beside me it contains chloroplasts. Anyone know what chloroplasts are? No? Okay, Chloroplasts are organelles within the cells of plants.
  • Chloroplasts purpose is to allow plants to catch the energy from the sun in energy-rich molecules.
  • This is the stack of thylakioids (grana). It contains the photosynthetic pigment (chlorophyll)
  • Chlorophyll
  • Chlorophyll is a green pigment that is present in all plants and is responsible for theabsorption of light to provide energy.
  • What is chlorophyll?
  • Photosynthesis transforms water, sunlight, carbon dioxide into oxygen to create simple sugars for the plants to use as fuel. So cool right! The primary producers create the fuel to form a base of an ecosystem. Without photosynthesis, there would be no plants.
  • Light-dependent reaction
  • Well, you see when you take in the energy from me and you break down the water molecules to produce ATP and NADPH
  • Did you guys know that you are converting the light from me to chemical energy?
  • Chloroplasts function allow plants to capture the energy from the sun in energy-rich molecules.
  • Light-independent reaction
  • You guys are light independent which is a series of biochemical reactions in photosynthesis.
  • Bye Guys! I hope to see you again one day.
  • Without the chlorophyll the plants wouldn't absorb any energy because the green pigment that the plants are supposed to have the light would not absorb in the plants and they won't have the energy.
  • How photosynthesis works
  • photosynthesis
  • Light-dependent reactions are when plants convert light from the sun and turn it into chemical energy. When the plants take in the energy they break down the water molecules to produce ATP and NADPH. The light-dependent plants are if they didn't have the sun the plants wouldn't live.
  • Really, how?
  • Wow! That is so cool. Thanks for teaching us that Mr. Sun
  • Light-independent reaction is when the plants don't need the sun because the series of biochemical reactions in photosynthesis does not require light to produce organic molecules.
  • not requiring light to proceed, and ultimately produce organic molecules from carbon dioxide
  • Oh. Well we will miss you.
  • Wait, Where are you going?
  • In photosynthesis the process by which plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create oxygen and energy in the form of sugar
  • carbon dioxide
  • Water
  • Sunlight
  • roots
  • sugars
  • oxygen
