- He walked toward the girls house on a very cold December winter, holding on to the two oranges in his jacket pockets. He was trying to ignore the dog barking at him from inside the house.
- Woof!
- They walked into town together, it was as cold as the north side of a January gravestone by moonlight.
- They arrived in front of the drug store. He held onto his one nickle.
- She wanted a chocolate that costed 10 cents, but he only had a nickel.
- I only have 5 cents.
- What do you want?
- This chocolate, it's only 10 cents
- He put an orange, the nickel, and the chocolate on the counter. Then the clerk knew that the boy was trying to make the girl happy, but didn't have the money.
