" One day when Idek was venting his fury, I happened to cross his path. He threw himself on me like a wild beast, beating me in the chest, on my head, throwing me to the ground, and picking me up again, crushing me with ever more violent blows, until I was covered in blood." ( Wiesel 53). This shows man vs man because Idek is hurting Elie.
Man Vs Nature
" I pinched myself: Was I still alive? Was I awake? How was it possible that men, women, and children were begin burned and that the world kept silent? No. All this could not be real. A nightmare perhaps...Soon I would wake up with a start, my heart pounding, and find that I was back in the room of my childhood, with my books..." ( Wiesel 32). This shows man vs self because Elie couldn't believe what was actually happening.
Man Vs society
" And in spite of myself, a prayer formed inside me, a prayer to this God in whom I no longer believed. "Oh God, Master of the Universe, give me the strength never to do what Rabbi Eliahu's son has done." ( Wiesel 91). This shows man vs God because even though Elie has lost faith in God he prayed to him to have the strength to stay there for his father.
Night
"An icy wind was blowing violently. But we marched with-out faltering. The SS made us increase our pace. "Faster, youtramps, you flea-ridden dogs!" Why not? Moving fast made us alittle warmer. The blood flowed more readily in our veins. We hadthe feeling of being alive ..." ( Wiesel 85). This shows man vs nature because Elie and the others are freezing to death.
" "There are no Kabbalists in Sighet," my father would oftentell me. He wanted to drive the idea of studying Kabbalah from my mind. In vain. I succeeded on my own in finding a master for my-self in the person of Moishe the Beadle." (Wiesel 4). This shows man vs society because his father was against what Elie wanted to learn expect for Moishe the beadle.
