- The Native Americans were talking about the threat of the whites when suddenly a Native American shouted that a fleet of powerful winged canoes had been seen far out in the ocean, advancing like great clouds.
- who loom on the horizon with their floating ships?
- During this possible invasion the Native Americans and Pocahontas were quick to hide. That night the ships dropped anchor in the bay. The next day the settlers landed and Captain Gosnold, their leader, claimed the land in the king's name.
- We have come to new lands to explore for the king!
- After disembarking the new captain of the crew John Smith went to explore the country and to trade with the natives some things corn, since the colonists began to lack food. However, Pocahontas's uncle gave orders to his men to stay by the ship and watch out for danger.
- Who are they and what are they looking for in our lands?
- I don't know but we have to get them off our lands.
- The Native Americans, seeing that the invaders were approaching their lands, attacked Captain John in a surprising way. Although Captain Smith fought valiantly he lost the battle to the Native Americans and they took him prisoner.
- Fight!
- Fight!
- When Captain Smith was captured, the Native Americans decided to kill him immediately, then some thought it was better to take him to their village, so that the whole tribe could decide what to do with him.
- They are going to kill him. I have to do something!
- Kill him by assassinating one of our tribe!
- Yes, Kill him!
- Okay Pocahontas is yours, use him as a toy if you wish.
- After a long debate, the Native Americans had decided to assassinate Captain Smith for the death of a member of the tribe. However, at the last second before the execution Pocahontas stood in front of her father to protect Captain Smith from any harm using her right as a princess ordered to spare the captive's life.
- What's up Pocahontas?
- No father he does not deserve to die he is a good man I will take care of him.
