- Industrialization - the development of industries in country or region on a wide scale This was a period of technological growth after the civil war.
- Urbanization extended industrialization as factories were built to take advantage of urban workforces and markets.
- Urbanization- the process by which large numbers of people become permanently concentrated in relatively small areas, forming cities.
- Factories became more popular and the demand for unskilled labor increased, immigrants, primarily young men in the working years, continued to be the ideal source of labor.
- Immigration- the process of moving to a new country or region with the intention of staying and living there.

- Big business was basically large company's the employed a lot of workers. some examples of big business back in the day are standard oil, Carnegie steel corp, Auburn automobile, etc

- Many new and innovated inventions were created during the Industrial Revolution. These inventions play a big part in the rise of the industrial revolution. Some of the popular inventions made were the steam engine, cotton gin, telegraph, light blub, etc.
- It was easy for factory owners to replace one employee who complained, but much more difficult to replace all their employees if they went on strike together.

- Industries invention that transformed the American economy in the 19th century were incandescent lightbulb, telegraph , the railroad industry, etc. these led to the emergence of the national market because now people could transport goods to different regions.

- one of the pros and cons of big business and the rise of corporations was that they were able to provide more jobs for workers but on the other hand the workers were not treated fairly nor did they get good pay.

- Immigration and urbanizations create the need for social and political change on a large extent because, These are people coming from different countries with different languages, cultures so people have to be more welcoming and open also with the cities becoming more populated more rules need to be set in place to keep order.
