Artist Statement

The theme I chose was friendship I portray this on the book cover by show George telling lennie about their great american dream. This theme is significant to the novel because there are friendships in the book every where. I chose to present this theme because it shows that how strong friendship can be. Also I chose the quote "You keep me in hot water all the time"to go on the cover because friendship are not always easy. The friendship in the novel are strong but they are not always easy.

George and lennie a unlikely pair drift from place to place for work together. George is a tall thin man, while Lennie is a big strong man with the mentality of a child. They have a dream they want to have an acre of land and a little cabin. There dream is almost in the grasp, until a flirtatious women got lennie into trouble. But will their dream still come true?
