  • Having the Plebeians work for us is great! I don't have to do any work.
  • I'm never going to work for you again untill you treat us better! I'm leaving this place just like the other Plebeians
  • Wait, please come back!
  • The Rise of The Roman Republic-Petricians.
  • Since I'm a Tribune, I demand that the laws will be written down so that you, Patriscians don't change it.
  • I guess we have to allow that.
  • In 509 B.C.E, Etruscans ruled Rome. The Etruscans divided into two groups; Patriscians and Plebeians. 5% of the population were Patriscians and the other 95% were Plebeians. The Patriscians were the wealthy and the Plebeians were poor and had to do what they habe been told by the Patriscians.
  • I was thinking, there should be a new law were one of the consuls are Plebeian.
  • Not another law!
  • Since we were making the Plebeians do all the work and treating them bad, they are leaving untill they receive more appreciation. How are the petricians going to run this place! We are going to have to compromise. They are going to be able to elect officials called Tribunes. Tribunes gained the power to vote, or overrule, actions by the Senate and other government officials. This all happened in 494 B.C.E.
  • Guess what I heard! Plebeians have equal rights!
  • Noooooooooo!!!
  • We now have to make the laws written so that we couldn't change them at will. We have to do this for them or they will leave us. They are gaining more and more power! This happened at 451 B.C.E.
  • The Plebeians wanted to make a law were one of the consuls are Plebeian. Since former consuls held seats in the Senate, now Plebeians can Senates too! They now almost have equal power to us! This all happened in 367 B.C.E.
  • Plebeians now have equal rights as us Patriscians! Now, assemblies of all Roman citizens could approve or reject laws. These plebeian assemblies also could elect the consuls, the tribunes, and the members of the Senate. Also more Plebeians serve in the Senate! This all happened in 287 B.C.E.
