Demeter looked for her daughter for 9 days.

Demeter was told her daughter was in the underworld and had been taken by Hades. What she didn't know is that Persephone loved Hades.

Demeter tried to get her back but she had eaten Hades fruit. This meant that for 6 months Persephone would be in the Underworld causing the Overworld to have Winter and Fall.

For the other 6 months she would be with Demeter in the Overworld causing it to be Spring and Summer.
