- It is a nice, late summer day on Maple Street. There are kids having fun outside, and playing games. A ice cream truck is parked on the street serving a good-humor man and two kids.
- Climax
- At 6:43 in the afternoon everything goes wrong. There is a screeching roar and a flash of light. Everything goes dark.
- Falling Action
- All power in the town is gone, nothing will work, and a kid comes out of the crowd and tells everyone that it is because monsters landed on Earth. He goes on to say that there is an alien among them, and they start blaming each other for what happened.
- Resolution
- A mysterious figure comes walking toward the mob, and charlie picks up a shotgun. He shoots the thing coming toward them. They later figure out that it was Pete Van Horn, and the crowd starts questioning Charlie.
- Lights begin to flicker in different peoples houses. It starts with Charlie and then others start getting blamed. Everyone turns on one another and they all start fighting.
- Two figures step out of the space craft at night. You can only see their dark silhouettes. They talk about how Maple Street is the same as any other community... They will destroy themselves.
